About your palette
The activity for building your palette, consists of 3 steps: the first step is to fill in some context details about you. Then on the second step, there are three questions related to your color preferences where you can start choosing on colors to build your own palette in relation to these questions. Then for the fourth question, you get to share a bit of this experience, in relation to what those colors mean to you, or what thoughts came to mind while picking them.
As a last step, you get to see your final palette and by clicking on the saving options you can decide to share it on the color card archive page, and also download it as a background image and your color card file with your given description.
These three color questions, are not random. They are designed to move through different layers of who you are: from your most outward self: the colors that energize and excite you; toward your quieter inner self: the colors you rest and feel safe in; and finally into something less conscious: the colors you grew around and influenced you deeply as a child.
Color preferences are rarely arbitrary. They are a mixture of psychology, memory, culture, and personal experience; emotional connections that often come from situations that have marked us, like the color of a room, a childhood memory, or a significant moment in our lives. The palette you have built is not just aesthetic, it is a reflection of your personal history. It belongs to you.
This palette can also be something you actually use. Color is one of the most powerful ways we communicate identity: in the spaces we create, the clothes we choose, the work we make. Yet color decisions are often approached late and analytically, based on trends rather than personal feeling. Having a personal color palette works as a blueprint that can free you from confusion, allowing you to make color choices from a place of clarity rather than indecision. Think of it as a starting point, not a rule, but a language that is genuinely yours, rooted in your own memory and experience.
I invite you to download the background file for either you phone or desktop, so you can interact with it for a couple of days, in hopes to maintain more reflection around such color palette. Maybe then it can bring some questions of your personal relation to those colors or reveal something you didn’t expect.
